What is Shonishin?

Shonishin pediatric acupuncture (sho=little, ni=children, shin=needle) is a specialized form of treatment for infants and children.

Children tend to have fast moving Qi. We have all experienced the exuberant energy of young children, but when there is imbalance and illness, this energy is blocked or inhibited and symptoms can come on quickly, rapidly moving throughout the body.

Shonishin uses specialized techniques that gently regulate and balance the Qi of the very young client in a safe and effective way, restoring health and vitality. Then the child’s system is once again able to self-regulate.
Because the child’s Qi moves so quickly, light stimulation of the meridians is often all that is needed to have impressive results. In addition, treatments are relaxed and often fun.

Shonishin is helpful for all sorts of childhood imbalances manifesting in the physical body as well as the emotional body.
